Case StudiesBelow are a few examples of how we work with our healthcare clients to not just provide products, but to offer marketing solutions that work to target their marketing challenges, build their brand and increase awareness. Marketing ChallengeCreating awareness about Client’s rehab capabilities and success stories within the hospital setting and doctors’ offices is very challenging for administrators, marketing directors, and admissions directors. Marketing Objective:Keying in on a seasonal theme is an effective way to get the attention of hospital discharge planners and doctors. By using a spring theme of growth and renewal you can tie into rehab success to show how placement at a rehab facility can positively effect their patients’ outcomes. Marketing Solution:1) Grab the attention of hospital discharge planners and doctors with a Garden in a Can (includes premix potting soil, your choice of seeds and planting instructions). Utilize the large imprint area to clearly deliver your message. Imprint the background of the can with a springtime motif. 2) Invite your referral sources and targeted community members to an open house at your facility. Play up the growth and renewal theme by utilizing USPS approved seed packet self mailers as your invitation. Invite them to tour your facility and learn some gardening tips from a local gardening expert. Provide a pair of custom logoed garden gloves to those that attend the tour - show them that your staff is “hands on” in providing rehab success. For in-person invitations, leave one garden glove with an invitation and encourge them to come to the open house to get the matching glove. 3) During the open house, do more than just talk about your rehab services and equipment. Share your patients‘ rehab success stories and have your therapists explain how they design and execute individual rehab plans to achieve patient success. Provide brochures about the facility’s rehabilitation services and your goal of “returning each patient to their prior level of function and improving their quality of life”. Marketing Outcome:1) Build awareness of your facility and how you can provide positive rehab outcomes for patients. 2) Strengthen relationships with your referral sources. 3) Get more referrals and increase your census! Marketing Challenge:Highlighting Occupational Therapy capabilities to referral sources and the community, as well as building morale and retention of skilled therapists, is very challenging for administrators, marketing directors, and admissions directors. Marketing Objective:Keying in on a recognized national event is an effective way to get the attention of hospital discharge planners and doctors, as well as educating the public about your areas of expertise. By using an uplifting theme of Living Life to it’s Fullest, you can tie into rehab success to show how placement at a rehab facility can positively effect their patients’ outcomes. Marketing Solution:1) Grab the attention of hospital discharge planners and doctors with a terra cotta mug shaped like a flower pot. Utilize the large, two sided imprint area to clearly deliver your message. Fill the mugs with candy or coffee packs to increase the impact. 2) Highlight your occupational therapy success at local senior fairs or community events with a Sunflower Stress Reliever. This cheery, sunflower shaped stress reliever is a great conversation starter. It can also be given to therapy patients as a rehab tool that reinforces your brand. 3) Recognition of the hard work and dedication of your Occupational Therapist goes a long way to building internal morale and retention of your rehab staff. Say thank you to your therapists by giving them a custom t-shirt that shows they are appreciated. T-shirts can be customized with facility information, continuing to build your brand, both internally and externally. Marketing Outcome:1) Build awareness of your facility and how you can provide positive rehab outcomes for patients. 2) Strengthen relationships with your referral sources. 3) Get more referrals and increase your census! Marketing Challenge:Needing to build referral and community awareness of your rehab and therapy capabilities and tie it into a national event for increased publicity. Marketing Objective:Grow awareness of services, and create a positive community presence. Marketing Solution:We created a slogan “Celebrating Independence Everyday” to showcase a customer’s ability to provide freedom and independence to their residents, through their rehab and therapy services, and we tied it into the local 4th of July “Independence Day” celebration. Referral Sources - Sales representatives visited doctors offices, hospitals, and assisted living facilities and handed out boomerangs imprinted with the slogan, along with informational brochures. If the prospect returned to the facility with the boomerang, and took a tour of the facilities, they were entered into a grand prize drawing. Community - Members of the facilities and their children participated in a 4th of July parade wearing red t-shirts and caps emblazoned with the facility name. They also handed out boomerangs encouraging recipients to come back to the facility and take a tour, and be entered in the grand prize drawing. Tour/Grand Prize - The boomerangs were imprinted with the address of the facility, the dates and rules of the contest, and the drawing date. The facility was decorated in red, white and blue to tie into the Independence day theme. The entries recorded the names and age category of the participants. Marketing Outcome:1)The event was a huge success and the facility increased the number of referrals and created a positive “buzz” in the local community of their rehab and therapy services. 2) Over 400 boomerangs were distributed and approximately 35% were returned for a tour and to sign up for the drawing. 3) The grand prize was announced in the adult and children category, making for a fun event that further solidified this facility as a valuable member of the community. home | why LightHouse? * about us * services * product search * our partners * contact us 963 Phillips Ave. * Toledo, Ohio 43612 * P: 1-800-481-4276 * E: info@lhbma.com© 2009 Lighthouse Branding and Merchandising Agency.
